About Us
Andrea Baranyai holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management.
Andrea began her event planning and management career as an intern where she was hired to work with the non-profit organization, Greater Hartford Arts Council, and their annual event, Taste of Hartford. She worked on this festival for several years and learned all the steps and details that go into coordinating a successful event. In addition to the Taste of Hartford she worked on other events such as trade shows, medical symposiums and food festivals.
Andrea was then recruited by a local advertising firm, where she was hired to plan the “Taste” part of Boats, Books & Brushes with Taste for the non-profit organization, Sail New London. She worked with area restaurants, sponsors, vendors to make sure the event, which brought in hundreds of thousands of attendees, was one of the best Southeastern Connecticut has ever seen.
Proving her worth, the firm set out to find other events for Andrea to manage and plan. In 2003, she was hired by the New England Resident Service Coordinators, Inc. to manage their association and plan their annual conference. For two years, Andrea worked with this non-profit organization to host successful conferences in both Connecticut and Maine.
In 2007, Andrea was offered the opportunity to go back into the event planning and management business. This is when she began Oh Buoy Productions which specializes in event planning and management. Through hard work, honesty, dedication, integrity and the highest ethical standards, she works with clients, businesses and non-profit organizations which hold similar values.
In her spare time, Andrea focuses on her passion, animals. She is an essential volunteer for the non-profit organization, Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary. Through her work with this group, Andrea has solely placed hundreds animals into loving homes, saved dozens of lives and brought happiness to many lonely individuals. She is an officer on the Our Companions Board of Directors where she sits on both the Strategic Planning and Governance Committees.
Her philosophy in life is to be philanthropic, treat people as she expects to be treated and to make a difference . . . many differences.
